Getting the Best Results in Resume Mining

  1. Strategy - The search strategy that will yield the greatest result entails casting as wide of a search as possible and working to narrow the results from there.

  2. Resume Date - The Resume Mining Search Page allows you to determine the date range for desired results. The default is set to 90 days. Other options include: 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, and all resumes. Do not make decisions for potential candidates, call them, if they are not available, ask for referrals.

  3. Candidate Location - Determine where potential candidates should reside. Our search is based on their state of residence. You can select up to 10 states by holding the Ctrl key while selecting the appropriate states.

  4. Resume Categories - Select the best categories for your search. You can select up to 20 categories by holding the Ctrl key while selecting. Cast a wide net with the categories, you can narrow your search if necessary.

  5. Employment Type -  Regular, Contract, or Either. The default is either.

  6. Resume Keywords -  The USjobs.com Resume Mining Keywords uses a Boolean Search Methodology to assist users in defining the desired database results from your search. Review the following examples for assistance.

Operators: AND, OR (They MUST be capitalized)

Use these operators to find keywords throughout a resume.

Examples:
1. Internet AND advertising
2. Advertising OR Marketing
3. NT OR Unix

Phrases: Keywords that are used together in a resume. The results will only show resumes that use these words together on the resume.

Examples:
1. Visual Basic
2. Vice President

Partial Words - Enter partial keywords to maximize results.
